Dear Suwannee County residents:
Late this afternoon we were given notice that Frank Darabi, agent for Clyde Biston of Cross Environmental Resources Management, LLC., who is seeking a special permit for a Class I landfill to be located at Interstate 10 and Highway 129 has WITHDRAWN the application. This means, the Tuesday, December 6, 2011, public hearing will NOT take place. I repeat the landfill hearing has been cancelled.

While the war over the landfill is not yet over, this battle has been won. Great work Suwannee County! We did an awesome job pulling together for a common good in our community. We did not use mis-information, we merely pointed out the facts. Let’s not let down our guard. There are other issues that need to be addressed in our community so let’s continue to band together to work for the betterment of Suwannee County.
